Project Report On Online Attendance Management System Using Android

ABSTRACT

Since ages, marking attendance has been one of the most important ways to record and track the presence of students in schools, colleges. The mobile based attendance management project has been developed with mobility support to mark student attendance by staff using an automation system. This automation system is embedded into android application which runs in any Android device. 

The aim of the project is to create an Android mobile application for attendance system that can be used by all teachers for their respective courses. This application fetches the details of the courses allotted to the respective faculty and the student enrolled in the courses which are stored in the mobile database.

In present system, staff has to mark the attendance directly in server manually. The whole session is stored in the database and at the end of the semester or session report will be generated. The existing system is not user-friendly because the retrieval of data is very slow. Time consuming is more in the current system. For computer system it is hard for the staff to carry along with them. This makes the process of entering the details slower than expected and also the portability level is lesser, in our proposed system the staff will mark the attendance in their respective smart Android devices. Hence portability level will be ultimate and the process will be faster so that the process will be time saving.
